The Goal

To crown a World Number One at season’s end — while still honoring the tradition of the Molokai to Oahu (M2O) World Championship.

Six Races That Will Shape the World Ranking

The global ranking will be decided by results from just six proven downwind events — two in each major region: USA, France & Australia. These events are not only steeped in prestige, they’re also scheduled so that the two races in each region occur within a week of each other, allowing international competitors to travel and compete efficiently.

Scoring: How the Rankings Work

• Points are awarded at each of the six global ranking races.
• Major events like M2O, M2M, Crozon, St Tropez, West Coast Downwinder, and The Doctor carry equal weight in the world rankings.
• The Hawaii series (M2M, Voyager/Paddle Imua, M2O) also serves as the sport’s spiritual proving ground.
• The athlete’s 4 best results will be counted.
• At season’s end, the athlete with the highest total points is crowned World Number One.
